Meet our lovely team
Petra,
Founder
Petra completed her Goldsmith Apprenticeship, top of her class, in Germany in the 1960s. She moved to England and set up her jewellery business in the late 70s. She soon established a great reputation for sensible advice and excellent craftsmanship along with compassion and honesty. In a time where many jewellers were making jewellery as cheaply as possible she stayed true to her own quality standards making designs engineered to love and last a lifetime. She is now partly retired but still enjoys coming on to the shop floor to meet customers; this is multi generation business and so are our customers now!
Mitch

Owner
Mitch is a chartered engineer within a family of artists so loves the challenge of jewellery design from a structural and visual perspective. She took over the leadership of Petra Jewellery after a career in the Army and in construction project management. She’s inherited her mum’s high standards and love of design and loves nothing more than sitting down with customers and sketching their ideas out until there’s a perfect solution. A mum to Heidi she’s also passionate about encouraging people to understand more about design and manufacture hence introducing popular Workshop Classes for both adults and children.
Behzad, Goldsmith
Behzad is a very, very talented goldsmith who has the perfect personality for taking care of the smallest details as well as the largest commissions. He is extremely conscientious so will advise on all of your options when considering how best to repair or restore a piece and his creative mind often comes up with genius design solutions. We are very lucky that Behzad can also set stones, use a laser welder and do simple engravings so we can often offer an in-house one-stop solution.
Jo, Shop manager
Jo is our manager, she keeps us all on track as well as project managing all the work you give us, making sure all our deadlines are met and meet our extremely high standards too. She absolutely loves sitting down with customers and developing design ideas with them, she’s got a very creative and inquisitive mind so you and your jewellery is in good hands. Jo will go out of her way to look after you and offer a personalised service, if there’s anything we can do to help or make your experience even better please just ask her.
Rosie,
DESIGNER
Rosie epitomises the Petra sparkle in her customer care and charm. She’s very experienced in customer service and is rapidly developing her jewellery design knowledge. She has a natural ability to understand what is important to you and is very good at explaining how the design and manufacture process works. If you have any questions about gift purchasing or design ideas Rosie will ask all the right questions to ensure you end up with the perfect piece.
ABI, CUSTOMER ADVISOR
Abi is the newest team member, with a degree in animation and a background in graphic design, she has a strong creative streak. She will be looking after our customers and managing our social media to share what we do. She has the technical and jewellery design knowledge to help with all your repairs and create beautiful bespoke pieces for all of our lovely customers.
