Sharing the Sparkle at Barnsgrove

Last night we had the absolute pleasure of hosting our Tailored Encounters event at the beautiful Barnsgrove, alongside NFU Mutual and Black Chalk Wine, with the evening captured by Maria Cristina Licata. It was a truly special evening filled with laughter, conversations, and plenty of sparkle.

The night opened with introductions from Jo at Barnsgrove, Mark from NFU, and Mitch, our director of the business, who shared the real heart behind the event. Jewellery isn’t just about its financial value, it’s about the emotional meaning it holds: the stories, milestones, and memories tied to each piece.

When we first began conversations with NFU Mutual, one theme kept shining through: the importance of protecting people’s most precious possessions. Jewellery is not only of financial value, it often carries deep emotional meaning. That’s why our expertise is always paired with care.

This is also what inspired our new Home Jewellery Appraisal Service. A discreet, relaxed way to have your jewellery valued at your own dining table. It’s never about sales, but about conversations that uncover not just what your jewellery is worth, but the stories and family history it carries. Alongside valuations, we often find simple ways to bring pieces back to life, from restringing pearls, to resizing rings, remodelling inherited treasures so they can be worn and loved again.

Our VIP guests enjoyed three exclusive workshops designed to open up the world of jewellery.

Jo shared her expertise on how we value jewellery, guiding guests through assessing their own pieces with confidence. Looking for details in the setting, how to find the hallmarks and even the year their jewellery was made.

Rosie brought the sparkle to life with a fascinating diamond workshop, showing guests how to become diamond graders themselves. Exploring the 4 C’s (cut, colour, clarity and carat), everyone got hands-on with a selection of hand-picked top quality diamonds.

Abi led a vibrant session exploring the world of coloured gemstones, showcasing a unique selection of sapphires, rubies, emeralds and more. Guests were able to get up close and personal with gems bursting with colour and character. Sharing their own stories and personal connections to the gemstones whilst exploring them up close with a jewellers loupe.

Meanwhile, our incredible goldsmith Behzad worked at his bench, carefully setting a sparkling diamond into a beautiful rubover pendant, giving everyone a glimpse into the craftsmanship that makes Petra Jewellery so special.

The evening wasn’t just about learning, it was about connection. We loved hearing your stories, over a glass of Blackchalk wine, and enjoying conversations that made the night truly memorable.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a wonderful event. We look forward to seeing you again soon for one of our other in-house experiences, where we’ll keep #SharingTheSparkle with you.
