International Women's Day Charity Networking Event

Today we had the pleasure of sharing the sparkle at a wonderful International Women’s Day networking event, celebrating inspiring women in business while raising money for two important local charities: The Pink Place Cancer Charity and St Michael’s Hospice.

The event brought together a vibrant community of businesswomen for a few hours of networking, learning and collaboration - all while supporting meaningful causes. Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the event raised a total of £1,585 for the charities.

Our designer Abi, led an engaging workshop titled “A Moment For You – Reflecting Your Style, Confidence and Identity.” Guests were invited to explore an array of beautiful gemstones using jeweller’s loupes and tweezers, giving them the chance to view the stones up close.

The collection included one of each birthstone, allowing everyone to connect with gemstones linked to their own personal stories.

A firm favourite was March’s birthstone - the serene blue Aquamarine, admired for its calming colour and elegant sparkle!

Jo spent the morning chatting with guests about the many ways we can help people repair, restore, remodel and create bespoke jewellery.

It was especially lovely to reconnect with previous customers who stopped by wearing their own Petra pieces!

Mitch also gave an inspiring talk titled “Beyond The Noise – Focusing On What We Can Influence.” She shared the story behind The Pink Place project, our work experience programme, and the journey of our admin assistant Erin, who came to us through the Inclusion Education EB8 Work Hub and is now a valued full-time member of the Petra team.

We were also proud to continue our partnership with The Pink Place Cancer Charity by bringing along our charity Pre-Loved Jewellery Collection.

This collection is made up of pieces that have been generously donated to the charity, with our work experience programme helping to curate and promote the items for sale.

The jewellery attracted plenty of admiration during the event, and several visitors went home with their own pre-loved treasure.

Through giving these beautiful pieces a new lease of life, we raised £111 for The Pink Place on the day.

It was truly uplifting to be part of such a collaborative and supportive event, with inspiring talks, demonstrations and workshops happening throughout the morning.

The event featured contributions from a range of fantastic businesses and speakers, including:

  • Christine Griffiths – The Pink Place Charity

  • Claire Dale – Tropic Skincare

  • Erika Conti – Solo Mia (Clothing, Body Shape & Confidence)

  • Gabriele Swift Photography

  • Jane Middleton – Authentic Travel

  • Karen Fowler – The Athena Network

  • Karen Pancholi – Thermomix

  • Kirsty Bennett – Sonderwell Coaching

  • Maxine Hart – St Michael’s Hospice

Each speaker brought their own energy and expertise, making the room buzz with inspiration, creativity and encouragement.

We had such a lovely morning sharing our passion and meeting so many inspiring women in business. Events like this remind us how powerful collaboration and community can be.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped to organise the event, supported the charities, and came along to say hello.
