We're Hiring! Bespoke Jewellery Designer
If you’re a jewellery designer and interested in a new role with heaps of growth potential, please keep reading and get in touch if you’d like to have a chat with us about next steps.
I’m Mitch, I own Hampshire’s favourite independent jewellers and we need another jewellery designer to join our wonderful team to support growing demand for our bespoke services and tailored experiences. We would also like you to lead on managing our digital content.
We recruit for both capability and character. Jewellery design experience and confidence with customers are essential, alongside creativity, initiative and values that align with our team.
A BIT ABOUT US
Petra Jewellery has been #SharingTheSparkle since 1979. We're a team of six, with me very much in the Director's role, Jo managing the day-to-day business, Abi as our jewellery designer and gemstone expert, Ella supporting customer experience while leading production and operations, and Behzad as our on-site goldsmith.
We also work with a specialist network of around 20 off-site artisans, mainly sole traders and small workshops.
We specialise in bespoke commissions, repairs and restorations with very little retail which means everything that we do is deeply personal and each job we take in is handled with compassion as well as high levels of expertise. After covid we are ‘by appointment’ which was a game changer, it’s brilliant and our customers love it!

It’s 5 minutes long, you’ll meet me, Mitch, as well as Jo (manager), Ella (ops) and Behzad (goldsmith). Abi (designer) unfortunately was on holiday.
THIS ROLE
Bespoke Jewellery Designer first, digital content curator second. We're looking for someone who already has the jewellery knowledge and customer-facing confidence to lead bespoke design consultations, build relationships and convert enquiries into sales from the outset.
We’re an extremely forward-thinking independent jewellery business so you do need to have a good level of IT literacy and digital competency as all work and customer communication is channelled through our CRM system (called Go High Level) to help manage our prospect and customer journeys and support delivery of customer service excellence.
Behind the sparkle sits a surprisingly complex operation.
Delivering exceptional experiences requires project management skills, proactivity and the ability to coordinate multiple moving parts; ensuring we deliver on time, on budget and to the high standards we’re known for.
Creativity and organisation are equally important at Petra. We value people who take ownership, communicate proactively and use our systems consistently so that every customer receives the exceptional service they deserve.

THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF…
Are looking for a remote role or are unable to accommodate occasional evening events.
