Today we were delighted to welcome a group of students from Inclusion Education’s EB8 Work Hub into our Workshop Studio to celebrate National Manufacturing Day!

Inclusion EB8

Inclusion Education’s EB8 Work Hub provides employability support for young people aged 16–25 with SEND or mental health challenges in and around Basingstoke.

Through specialist support, employability-focused learning, wellbeing provision and real-world experiences, EB8 helps young people develop skills, confidence and an understanding of the opportunities available to them.

Our connection with Inclusion EB8

We’ve worked closely with EB8 over the past few years, and their visits to Petra are particularly special to us.

Almost two years ago, our very own Marketing & Operations Coordinator, Erin, first came to Petra through EB8 for a workshop just like this one.

It was a full circle moment for Erin today who photographed and videoed the morning… (and who is writing this news page!)

Designing & Crafting with Care

Each student had the opportunity to design and craft their own piece of jewellery from a simple sheet of copper, transforming it into something uniquely personal.

And it’s safe to say… their creativity is boundless!

From design through to making and finishing, we wanted to give them an insight into the different stages involved in bringing an idea to life.

We’re incredibly proud to support initiatives like National Manufacturing Day and to continue our relationship with Inclusion Education’s EB8 Work Hub.

For us, it’s about opening the workshop doors, sharing the skills and craftsmanship behind what we do, and showing young people that there are many different paths into the world of work.
