VIP Emerald Evening

There’s something addictive about looking at emeralds up close.

The longer you spend with them, the more details begin to appear - flashes of colour, natural inclusions, tiny differences in tone that completely change the personality of a stone.

That sense of discovery filled Petra Jewellery on Wednesday evening as guests joined us for our latest Emerald Viewing Event.

Hosted by our designer Abi, the evening brought together a small group of guests to explore a carefully selected collection of emeralds - each chosen for its colour, character and individuality.

Some stones were vivid green.
Some softer and more understated.
Others held the natural inclusions emeralds are loved for - the tiny markings and patterns that make each gemstone feel completely unique.

The evening was intentionally relaxed and hands-on.

Guests used jeweller’s loupes and tweezers to examine the gemstones up close, learning more about colour, clarity, cut and the natural characteristics that make emeralds so fascinating.

But what made the evening particularly interesting was how quickly conversations moved beyond gemstones themselves.

People started talking about jewellery they had inherited but never worn.
Ideas they had saved for years but never quite known how to bring to life.

Of course, in true Petra style, there was also plenty of laughter throughout the evening, alongside glasses of fizz, nibbles, and a little friendly competition over guessing the price of the stones.

The most expensive Emerald was this columbian asscher cut 1.73ct for £4,100

What evenings like this always remind us is that gemstones are completely different when experienced in person.

A photograph can show colour.
But it cannot show how a stone catches the light.
How it feels in your hand.
Or the moment somebody suddenly sees the gemstone that feels like theirs.

We look forward to hosting more gemstone events throughout the year… so definitely keep an eye on your emails for your VIP invitation!
