Bob's Signet Ring
Bob and his daughter Vicki came to Petra Jewellery looking to have a new ring made using their family jewellery.
Having previously had his wedding ring made with us he knew he also wanted to have his new ring designed and created by our goldsmith, Behzad.
Bob had leftover diamonds from both his late wife Yvonne’s and his original wedding rings that he wanted incorporated into the design.
Bob and his daughter Vicki sat down with Abi to look at some different options for Bob’s new ring.
They both liked the idea of a signet ring, using one of the stones from one of the signets Bob was having melted down. After looking through some design options they landed on a heavy set signet ring with one of Yvonne and Bob’s diamonds set on either shoulder.
Here ‘s a picture of Bob’s gold being melted down, ready to pore into a mould. The casting process requires more metal to start. If we have any of your precious metal left over, we can return this too you too!
Behzad hand carved the wax mould for the ring. The mould was then placed into a crucible and once the gold had been melted it was poured into the mould, replacing the wax impression.
Once it was given a good polish and Behzad created a rubover setting for the stone to sit. Then the ring was ready to have stones set!
It looked amazing!
