Tracy needed another one!

Tracy had a problem… a nice problem!

Her two daughter’s loved the ring we made her so much she needed us to make another one!

Both Tracy's rings

Tracy’s journey with Petra Jewellery began five years ago when she brought in a collection of jewellery, some inherited, some unworn, and challenged us to create something entirely new.

The result was a striking, contemporary statement ring, crafted from her sentimental pieces. Wide and bold, it featured a modern rubover setting for the central diamond, ensuring security and wearability.

Tracy adored it, and the ring quickly became a part of her everyday sparkle.

But the story didn’t end there. Over the years, Tracy’s two grown-up daughters developed a fondness for the ring, so much so, that they began “borrowing” it regularly!

Understanding how much the piece meant to all of them, Tracy returned to us with an exciting request: she still had leftover gold and diamonds from the original project, and she wanted us to create a second ring that was just as extraordinary as the first.

Working closely with Tracy, we explored several designs, ultimately landing on one that echoed the original ring’s aesthetic while standing on its own as a unique piece.

Like the first, the new ring featured contemporary rubover settings for its large centre diamond, perfectly secure, smooth, and ideal for everyday wear.

To ensure the wide shank was comfortable, we invited Tracy to try on a prototype. A small adjustment later, the design was ready to be brought to life by our talented setter.

The result? Two spectacular rings, each with its own personality yet equally stunning, much like Tracy’s daughters.

Tracy left our workshop thrilled, knowing she had created meaningful pieces for her family to treasure for generations.

This has to be one of my favourite commissions of the year. It perfectly captures everything I love about what I do: contemporary design, a truly one-of-a-kind creation, and an emotive story. And it was all for a wonderful lady who inspired me as a youngster - Tracy, who represented GB in the 400m, was someone I really looked up to at Basingstoke & Mid Hants Athletics Club!
