Carole's Workshop Experience and remodelled ring
Carole booked a Private Design consultation with Rosie to discuss using some rings she had to create a new ring.
She had an oval shaped emerald, a large diamond and five smaller diamonds that she wanted to use. She also knew that she wanted a ring in the style of Art Nouveau.
We drew out a few variations of a design until we landed on one we liked. Carole wanted the ring to feel like one sinuous piece of gold that had been stretched around the stones, with fluid curves and lines.
We had a few emails back and forth to make alterations to the design. We moved the stones around a few times until we had the perfect arrangement!
Then Carole asked if she could be involved in the making of the ring…
We are very fortunate to have our own workshop in our little cottage and a fantastic goldsmith, Behzad, who loves being able to show people how the magic happens!
Carole came in to melt down her original rings into one bar of gold! This tiny block of gold is enough to create a whole new piece and quite a weighty ring too!
The gold was then given to our casting team and they made the ring…
As the stones were Carole’s own, there was a risk that a stone could break, particularly the emerald as there was a small chip in one of the corners and emeralds are fairly soft. Thankfully the emerald was okay and it was re-set into the new ring!
