Janice's dress ring

Janice joined us for our topaz and citrine event in November last year, she had a love for blue stones and was looking for a bit of inspiration for a bubble style ring she had been dreaming of.

After learning more about different gemstones at the event, she arranged to come in and see designer Abi, for her own private gemstone viewing to have a look at some more unique blue gemstones.

Janice liked the idea of darker blue or teal coloured gemstones, so Abi hand selected a variety of gems that included sapphires, tourmaline and topaz for her to get hands on.

Janice ended up choosing a beautiful pair of pear cut sapphires, which she wanted to have set with some of her sentimental diamonds into a brand new ring.

So Abi drew up a couple of designs for Janice, and landed on an asymmetrical style freeform ring set with Janice’s diamonds and new sapphires.

Once Janice was happy with the design it was time to send it to our CAD workshop to have a 3D render of Janice’s ring created.

Abi also requested a 3D printed wax of Janice’s ring, so she could test the sizing and make sure she was happy with the fit.

Janice requested a couple of minor alterations to the angle of her sapphires, and with that it was time to get making her new ring!

The finished piece was a beautiful rubover set ring with a lot of sentiment and meaning.

It was time to get Janice in to try on her ring in what was a emotional collection

She loved it!
