Jean came to see us because she was suffering with swollen knuckles due to her arthritis and was no longer able to wear her beautiful engagement and wedding rings.
This, unfortunately, is a very common problem, but luckily at Petra Jewellery, we have the perfect solution!
We have perfected a hinged ring concept, meaning that swollen knuckles are no longer an issue as we can build the ring to fit perfectly around the base of your finger. That way once it is on, it will be the perfect fit!
Jean was very excited about the concept, so our master goldsmith Behzad got to work altering her existing rings.
Behzad kept the setting of the engagement ring exactly the same, and altered the width of both bands ever so slightly to allow for the hinged mechanism. Both rings were completely hand made, making it possible for us to keep the integrity of both rings intact.
Jean came in to try the rings on, and was over the moon that after so long of being unable to wear them, she could now wear them both!
It can be really traumatic not being able to wear your treasured rings, and we are so grateful to be able to help our customers to make their rings wearable again.
