Kevin and Karen
Kevin had a collection of jewellery that he had inherited from his late mother.
Kevin knew he wanted to have something made but was unsure whether the pieces were real or not.
Kevin and his lovely wife Karen decided to book a remote afternoon tea appointment with our designer Beth to go through the inherited jewellery and to help design a new signet ring for Kevin.
During their afternoon tea appointment Beth we through the jewellery and Kevin spoke about the stories behinds the pieces. There were lots of really fun costume pieces along with some beautiful pendants and earrings.
Along with the help from Beth, Kevin and Karen loved the idea of using some of the stones and setting them into the signet ring.
Beth came up with the idea of setting a row of little diamonds into the signet ring and to add a satin finish to create a more contemporary and unique signet ring.
Both Kevin and Karen loved this idea and were really excited about the final design. Once Kevin had give the go ahead on the design it was given to out master goldsmith Behzad to get to work on.
Behzad started by creating a wax model of Kevins signet ring. This wax model was them placed into a sand clay cast for Behzad to then pour the melted gold into the wax to create the shell of Kevins signet ring.
The video below shows melting of Kevin’s gold reading for casting process.
After the casting process was complete Behzad let the ring cool down before he got to work with the polishing and filing.
Once Behzad had finished Kevin’s signet ring it was them sent to one of our fantastic setters to set in Kevin’s stones.
Once we received the ring back from our setter it was given to Behzad for the final clean and polish.
Both Beth and Behzad were really happy with the finished ring and were very excited for Kevin to see it.
Both Kevin and Karen were left speechless when they collected the ring.
