Lisa’s family birthstone ring
When Lisa visited Petra Jewellery, she wanted to create a bespoke family birthstone ring that represented members of her family.
She met with designer Jo to explore how the different birthstones could work together in one design.
They began by selecting the stones for each month:
Garnet for January
Diamond for April
Emerald for May
Pearl for June
Pink sapphire for September
Topaz for December
Jo produced several design sketches and worked closely with Lisa to refine the concept. They reviewed different layouts and proportions, adjusting the arrangement of the stones until the design felt right.
Once the initial design direction was agreed, three CAD designs were created to show how the ring could look in its finished form.
Seeing the designs in 3D allowed Lisa to compare the options clearly and consider the finer details of the layout.
After reviewing the three designs, Lisa settled on the final shape and style of the ring, and the final design was approved ready for the ring to be made…
The final result is a stunning custom family birthstone ring, bringing together the birthstones of her loved ones into one meaningful design.
