Lorraine bought an opal ring years ago that was set in silver and needed to be restored.
After booking an appointment with one of our designers she mentioned that there was a particular style of ring that she had always wanted and had kept a photo of it on her phone.
After removing the opal from her ring the designer recommended that it be sent to a Lapidary to have the top polished as it was scratched fro years of wear. This process would bring out the colour in this amazing stone that had been lost.
The designer then explained how the edges of the metal needed to be higher than the top of the opal to protect the opal as much as possible from further scratches. The photo’s and opal were handed to the goldsmith to preform his magic.
The ring was handcrafted beautifully by our goldsmith and when Lorraine collected the ring she was overjoyed!
