Rik and Kim's wedding rings
Rik and Kim came to see Jo one of the designers as they were looking for wedding rings.
They came in for a design appointment and talked through what they were looking for. Kim wanted a wedding ring to complement her engagement ring which we originally made for her and Rik wanted a wedding ring with a diamond.
We designed their rings incorporating gold they already had.
Once the design for the rings were finalised and the stones were chosen, it was time to make their rings.
We invited them to have a Workshop Experience where they could be part of the process of making their rings.
To make Rik’s ring it needed to be cast and so Kim had a wax that she filed and formed to the shape of the ring that they wanted.
This would be the mould to make the ring.
Once this was finished and they were happy it was time to melt some gold.
Behzad the goldsmith gave a demonstration, then torch was handed to Rick for him to melt the gold this was poured into the mould that they had made.
We didn’t want Kim to be left out either so they melted the white gold to make Kim’s ring too.
Both rings still needed to be finished, engraved and to have stones added. This is when they were handed back so we could work our magic.
Once the rings were made, Kim came with her mum to collect them in time for the weddings.
Congratulations to Rik and Kim and thank you for sharing your amazing pictures of your weddings.

Two daughters, one ring, we needed to make another one! It had to be just as good as her first one!
Her brief was an oval blue stone with smaller shaped diamonds sat either side. She also knew that she wanted a white metal as it suited her better and all of her special pieces of jewellery were white.
When Clare visited Petra Jewellery, she brought with her a cherished sapphire and diamond cluster ring in yellow gold. While the ring held deep sentimental value, she longed for a modern re-imagining, something that would celebrate the original ring whilst better reflecting her personal style.
Beverley had a selection of unworn gold jewellery that she was looking to transform into something brand new. She had a unusual triangle cut diamond ring that she wanted to use as inspiration for a quirky pendant design.
Suzanne had a beautiful engagement ring that she had been wearing for years but had seen a design that she had fell completely in love with…
Olwen wanted to use her gold and diamonds to make a new unique dress ring with satin finish.
Claire wanted some extra sparkle to her beautiful engagement ring so we sourced two beautiful trilliant cut diamonds and made new setting to make a beautiful solitaire into a stunning trilogy ring.
Courtney and Dan were looking for a unique set of wedding rings inspired by the magical ring Dan had proposed to Courtney with.
