Suzanne's upgraded engagement ring
Suzanne had a beautiful engagement ring that she had been wearing for years but had seen a design that she had fell completely in love with…
Eventually, she decided to take the plunge to discuss making her dream ring come true at Petra Jewellery. She got in touch with us and spoke with designer, Rosie to see what her next steps would be.

We spoke about roughly what she was after, which was a yellow gold six claw solitaire set with a beautiful, single diamond.
Suzanne popped in to have a look at the different setting styles and sizes of diamond to help narrow down her search.

Once she knew a bit more about what she wanted the diamond to look like, Rosie spoke to our fantastic diamond supplier to curate a small hand-picked selection of round brilliant cut diamonds.
Suzanne, her husband and Rosie all sat down together to discuss the details of the design from metals to ring profiles to make sure every detail was perfect as the setting was the most important thing for Suzanne. It was crucial that her stunning diamond would be shown off!

Then it was time for the geeky bit! We talked all things diamonds…which meant that Suzanne got to learn all about the 4C’s (which you can learn about yourself below) and what was important to her when picking the diamond for her ring.
Ultimately it came down to sparkle and instinct - you have to fall in love with the stone! Suzanne was drawn to one diamond in particular but knowing that that it had been cut to precision for the sparkle and fire and the care that had been taken to polish it made it an easy decision.
So once Suzanne had picked her diamond, we just needed to make sure the design was perfect, we decided on a yellow gold shank to match Suzanne’s other rings but with platinum claws to showcase the diamond even better.

We also had a computer aided design image drawn up so that Suzanne could be sure all the details were perfect.
Then it was time for us to start making the ring! This usually takes around 8 weeks so that we can make the mount then it gets hallmarked so that you know what metal it is.
Then the stunning diamond got set by hand before polishing it to perfection. Rosie gave it all a check over to make sure everything was right then let Suzanne know…

She was absolutely thrilled to finally have her dream ring! When she came to collect we gave her wedding and eternity rings a clean so that they looked lovely and sparkly with her new engagement ring!
