A Designer Worth Finding Again
To celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary, Alastair wanted to create something truly meaningful for his lovely wife, Sharron.
Alastair had some ideas, but knew there was only one person he wanted to design the piece.
It all began six years earlier…when they met our lovely designer and shop manager, Jo.
Six years earlier, our lovely designer and shop manager, Jo, worked at another company and had designed Sharron’s eternity ring while working there.
The experience left such a lasting impression, that when it came to this milestone, Alastair was determined to find Jo again…but quickly discovered she no longer worked at the place they first met, so some skilful detective work was needed.
After searching across social media - like a modern-day detective - he tracked Jo down at Petra Jewellery and reached out. That moment alone speaks volumes about the impact of a truly meaningful customer experience.
For Jo, this was a powerful full-circle moment.
In our next quarterly team meeting, where the Petra team share proud moments and how we’ve “Shared the Sparkle”, Jo spoke about this story.
What meant the most to her was that a customer would go to such lengths to find her again. She shared that her proudest moment of the quarter was knowing she had truly “left an impact on people.”
With Alastair and Sharron living over 30 miles away, the journey began with a relaxed Zoom chat.
This allowed Jo to reconnect with them, catch up, discuss ideas and designs, and understand how they wanted to celebrate ten years of marriage.
Jo designed a bespoke pendant featuring ten diamonds - each one representing a year of marriage.
It was to be crafted in platinum to match her engagement, wedding and eternity rings, with every diamond carefully matched in size to the ones in these rings, to ensure complete consistency.
This level of detail meant the new piece wouldn’t just complement her jewellery, it would feel like it had always been part of the set.
To add even extra meaning and sentiment to an incredibly special piece, Jo designed the pendant to include both Sharrons and Alastair’s birthstones Sapphire (September) and Tanzanite (December).
Our on-site goldsmith Behzad handcrafted the structure of the pendant, before it was passed to our specialist setters to place each diamond with precision and care.
The finished piece is elegant, meaningful, and designed for everyday wear. A beautiful symbol of ten years together, captured in a piece that will last a lifetime.
This story highlights what truly sets Petra Jewellery apart. It’s not just the design or the materials, it’s the relationships our incredible designers build along the way.
When a customer goes to such lengths to find the same designer years later, it shows the power of genuine care, expertise, and a truly bespoke experience.
At Petra Jewellery, we don’t just create jewellery. We create lasting connections, and pieces that mark the key chapters of life.
“Jo and I spent some time discussing an idea for my 10 year anniversary present for my wife. Jo came up with a design of a channel set curved platinum bar with 10 diamonds, based on my wife’s engagement, wedding and eternity diamonds on a platinum necklace with an adjustable clasp setting. That means it can be easily worn at different lengths. It was finished by a rear twin drop of our birthstones, Sapphire and Tanzanite. Petra and Mitch, you should be so proud of your team, Jo and Behzad thank you. For anyone reading the review, I think some pictures will come on Stories soon, on their website, and I think you will be stunned as it will show the design to completion.”
