Charlotte’s remodelled engagement ring
Charlotte came to see us with a palladium engagement ring she had made bespoke by another jeweller several years ago. While it held great meaning, she felt the design no longer reflected her style and appeared heavier than she would like. She was drawn to the elegance of Art Deco design and wanted to explore how her ring could be remodelled to feel more delicate and timeless.
She sat down with Abi to talk through her ideas. Abi carefully assessed Charlotte’s palladium and measured her existing stones, before sketching a halo design inspired by Art Deco proportions.
The new design felt lighter, more balanced and perfectly suited to Charlotte. Once she approved the concept, Abi passed the design and Charlotte’s ring to our goldsmith Behzad to begin the transformation.
Palladium is beautiful but can be challenging metal to work with. It sits in the same family as platinum, yet is lighter in weight and requires great skill when forming and soldering. With his expertise, Behzad carefully crafted a new ring using Charlotte’s original metal, ensuring strength, precision and a beautifully finished result.
Charlotte then returned to test the fit of her new ring alongside her wedding band. Once the sizing was perfect, the ring was hallmarked and her diamonds and sapphire were carefully set.
The finished piece is an elegant and robust engagement ring that captures Charlotte’s love of Art Deco design, while remaining practical for everyday wear.
A meaningful remodel that has allowed her to truly fall in love with her ring all over again.
