Claire's freeform ring
Claire was looking to remodel her mother’s engagement with some of her unworn gold pieces, the ring had a lot of sentimental value so she wanted a new piece that was unique to her.
She sat down with Abi and discussed a couple of design options she could go for. Claire was keen to go for a piece that had some natural forms and settled on a freeform style ring inspired by a similar design by Jo, with the diamonds from her mother’s ring set in a central rubover setting.
The majority of Claire’s gold was 9ct yellow, aside from the engagement ring which had a 18ct yellow gold shank. As the piece was sentimental, it was melted down with Claire’s 9ct to include all the pieces, as we can mix carats of the same metal together.
Our goldsmith, Behzad, was given some creative liberty by Claire to freeform the two bands holding the diamond, meaning the ring was going to be completely unique to her.
The ring was then given a good clean and polish, and then set with Claire’s diamonds.
It looked beautiful!
So it was time to get Claire in to see her brand new ring…
and she was delighted!
