Beverley's remodelled eternity ring
Beverley came to Petra Jewellery in hopes of having a new eternity ring made using her existing inherited band that had a lot of sentimental value.
She discussed with Abi some different options on how we could make her 9ct gold ring sit comfortably with the platinum wedding and engagement rings she wears daily.
We came up with some different options for Beverley to choose…
We could completely remake her ring in platinum using her existing stones or we could add two platinum bands, overlapping the 9ct gold to encompass the ring in the centre. This was so it could match her two existing rings.
The next step was for Abi to send Beverleys ring to our CAD team to be scanned in and duplicated in platinum.
Beverley loved the CAD but thought it would be best for sentimental reasons to keep as much as the original ring as possible. This would be risky due to it’s age, although we knew our amazing goldsmith, Behzad, could handle it, so the ring went to the workshop!
As the ring was being given a clean up and size, Behzad noted that the central band had a very low quality solder on it. Meaning when the heat required for platinum was applied, the ring was at risk of completely coming apart.
Beverley was made aware of these new risks Behzad had noted, and after her go-ahead he continued working on the ring…
And it ended up looking incredible!
Beverley was delighted with how her ring looked and it looked beautiful with her wedding and engagement rings!
It was a pleasure to make a much loved piece of family history be able to be worn and enjoyed everyday.
