Joanna's remodelled engagement ring

When Joanna first came to see us, her engagement ring had seen better days. One of the pear-cut diamonds on the shoulders was missing, and the worn claws had started catching on her clothes. She loved her ring but wanted something more robust and contemporary, and she also had a soft spot for aquamarine.

After a 30-minute chat with Abi, Joanna decided to remodel her setting while keeping the original shank. Together, they created a new design: a rubover trilogy featuring her central diamond, now flanked by two trillion-cut aquamarines. It was the perfect blend of old and new, preserving sentimental value while giving her ring a fresh, modern edge.

Our talented goldsmith, Behzad, carefully remodelled the settings and soldered them onto the original shank before passing the piece to our expert gemstone setter. Since aquamarine is a softer stone, we always recommend using a specialist setter to ensure each gem is handled with the utmost care.

Once the setting was complete, the ring received its final polish, and it was ready to collect. Joanna’s new ring was an absolute stunner: bold yet elegant, beautifully practical, and uniquely hers.
