Michelle's remodelled pink sapphire ring
Michelle wanted to remodel some very sentimental pieces into something that was more her.
She sat down with our designer, Rosie, to come up with a design that she could wear for a lifetime.
We came up with a design to incorporate an old cut diamond in the centre and some smaller diamonds around the outside in a halo.
The ring was then made by our goldsmith in our in-house workshop.
Unfortunately, during the setting process, Michelle’s old cut diamond broke due to an existing chip in the stone. We knew that it was a risk so we decided to take the opportunity to add some colour to the ring.
Michelle’s favourite colour is pink so we got in a selection of beautiful pink sapphires and she was able to pick her favourite. Michelle commented that the pink sapphire was her adding her own mark onto a ring with so much history.
Michelle’s gold was all yellow and because she wears mostly white metals, we decided to do the grand reveal whilst it was yellow so that Michelle could decide if she wanted it to be plated.
Although she thought it was beautiful in yellow gold, it just wasn’t her, so we quickly plated it with rhodium and made the grand reveal again!
