Milica and Emily's Afternoon Tea Design Experience
Milica and Emily had never been to see us before but they did follow us on facebook and when they heard about our Afternoon Tea Design Experiences, they saw the perfect opportunity to go through their inherited jewellery together.
During their appointment with Rosie, Milica brought up her Pinterest board filled with inspiration which actually included a lot of Petra designs! We knew she was in the right place!
They had a lot of sentimental jewellery from both parents and grandparents as well as a few pieces they had each collected over the years but didn’t get enough use out of. They had a lot of pieces and really wanted to use as much as possible.
It took a few iterations (and zoom calls!)…but we eventually landed on a design for two bangles for Milica and a bangle for Emily. They both started out wanting pretty different things but found themselves drawn to very similar designs…
It was a nice touch that the three bangles we would be making would share some similarities to reflect their family and the history that the stones and metal share.
The designs worked perfectly for allowing us to get in as many of the precious stones as we could!
Behzad, our goldsmith, melted some silver and Milica and Emily’s gold to start creating the bangles.
The solid bangles were made in silver with a yellow gold edge and collets, made from the sentimental gold, to hold the larger stones.
Rosie sent some images as we went along the process of making the ring so that Milica and Emily could be a part of the whole journey.
You can see here that we also engraved the inside of the bangle with the names of Milica and Emily’s family.
The bangles also featured a link from a chain on either end. During the design appointment when the chain was pulled out of the box, both Emily and Milica immediately recognised it as their grandmother’s chain and were reminded of their memories of her.
Behzad then cleaned all of the stones that we had unset from the pieces and Rosie sorted them all before giving them to the setter!
There was quite an eclectic mix of colourful stones but they tell a story. They have all been set beautifully and each stone stands out on it’s own!
This is Emily’s finished bangle…
And Milica’s!
They are absolutely gorgeous and so unique!
