Molly's Engagement Ring
Sam and Molly were looking to come up with some ideas for an engagement ring for Molly. Molly had an idea of what she wanted, but was keen to see some gemstones to get an idea of what she liked.
She originally had her heart set on a dark green emerald but liked the idea of a more robust stone so that she could wear the ring daily without worrying about potential damage to the stone. Emeralds are a softer stone and can require a little more care than a harder gemstone.
So Abi suggested setting a dark green teal sapphire into the ring, it would have the colour Molly was looking for but be a much more appropriate stone for day to day wear.
Molly liked the idea of a sapphire but was only looking for ideas for her engagement ring, so Abi drew up a design for her to keep until she was ready to create her ring…
At least that’s what Molly thought…
Sam had a proposal date in mind and, now knowing the style of ring Molly liked and her gemstone of choice, it was time to get in a beautiful selection of teal octagonal cut sapphires in for Sam to choose from.
Sam chose a lovely dark teal sapphire with green and blue tones.
We then decided to make a couple of personalised touches to the ring including a personalised engraving and a flush set diamond to represent Sam’s birthstone on the inside of the shank.
We decided to use our CAD workshop to create Molly’s ring in 18ct yellow gold to compliment the colour of the stone Sam chose.
The ring came back and looked absolutely incredible. So it was time to get Sam in to collect so he could pop the question…
and she said yes!
Congratulations to you both!
