Naomi's moon ring
Helen and her daughter Naomi came in to see Rosie to design a special piece using some inherited gold and diamonds.
Together they looked through Naomi’s inspiration and developed the idea of an engraved disc style ring, featuring a crescent moon and star design set with her diamonds. They talked through various textures and finishes to really make the different components stand out from each other.
Once Naomi was happy with the sketch, it was time to bring her vision to life.
Our goldsmith Behzad melted down Helen’s gold and hand crafted the band and disc. After soldering the pieces together, he prepared the ring for setting and engraving.
We were even able to use one of the original 22ct bands as it was which meant we could preserve its original hallmark.
Each diamond was then grain set to follow the curve of the crescent, with the stars carefully placed to complete the design.
An etched finish was added to the disc to create soft texture, while the band was given a gentle hammered effect. Once the final polish was complete, the ring was ready for Naomi and Helen to collect.
They were delighted with the finished piece, a meaningful gift that Naomi will treasure for years to come.
