Vicky's statement bubble ring
Vicky joined us for one of our Afternoon Tea Design Experience’s with her husband Trevor. They had inherited some jewellery that they were unsure on how best to use their pieces.
They sat down with designer, Abi and together they went through the pieces they had brought in. There were several pieces with beautiful gemstones and other’s which held a lot of sentimental value to Vicky, including her mother and grandmother’s engagement rings.
Vicky had been researching designs she liked and was keen to have the gold and gemstones from her pieces made into a one-of-a-kind bubble ring.
Abi drew up a couple of different designs using the sapphires, diamonds and aquamarine from Vicky’s pieces and once we landed on an organic swirl design Vicky liked, Abi requested a CAD rendering on the ring.
Vicky liked the first render but wanted some of placement adjusted, and had even drawn up some different options she liked herself. So we had another attempt at getting the placement perfect…
And it looked much better! It’s always worth taking the time to ensure multiple gemstone rings sit correctly and getting a perfect placement so the stones compliment each other.
Once Vicky approved the final render it was time to start making her ring.
As she liked the idea of casting the ring, she chose to have it made in 9ct because casting always works best in one carat. However, this meant that the ring could be made solid and weighty as she has plenty of 9ct gold to use!
Once the ring has back in from the CAD team it looked incredible so it was time to get Vicky in to try it on!
And it’s safe to say Vicky loved it!
It was an utter delight to create this beautiful ring and it goes perfectly with the ring Trevor designed for Vicky which you can read about by clicking the button below!
