Lucy's remodelled emerald and diamond ring
Lucy had a couple of lovely pieces of jewellery that she’d been gifted by her mum. She loved the rings but knew she wouldn’t wear them day-to-day in their current design. So, she came to see designer, Abi, to see what could be done with them.
Abi had a look over the rings and gave some suggestions for designs that would work and they landed on the idea of a bypass style ring set with the emerald and diamond from Lucy’s ring. The emerald was already a little worn so Abi suggested setting both stones in a rubover setting which would keep them secure and help to protect the emerald.
Once Lucy was happy with the design of her new ring, it was time to get to work. Our incredible goldsmith, Behzad, carefully unset Lucy’s stones and started making the new ring using her inherited gold.
Behzad set Lucy’s diamond and then the emerald was given to our specialist setter, Gavin, to be carefully set as it required a little extra care.
And the finished piece looked amazing!
