Lauren’s Deco Aquamarine Ring
Lauren and Amanda had previously joined Abi for one of our Afternoon Tea Design Experiences, where Abi designed a unique crossover-style garnet ring for Lauren using their inherited gold and her birthstone as a bright pop of colour.
Over time, Abi went on to design several beautiful pieces for them both, then Amanda returned with another special piece, her aquamarine cluster ring.
Although she still loved the sentimental value of the ring, the style no longer felt like her. She wanted to transform the diamonds into a timeless cluster-style ring using her platinum. That did, however, leave behind a stunning aquamarine.
It felt far too beautiful not to use, so after chatting together, Amanda and Lauren decided to create a new ring for Lauren using the remaining stone.
Abi sketched out several design ideas, carefully considering how best to showcase and protect the large octagonal-cut aquamarine. After exploring the options together, Lauren chose a contemporary rub-over setting—perfect for a softer gemstone like aquamarine. To add an extra touch of sparkle, we also incorporated some of the leftover diamonds from Amanda’s remodelled ring into the shoulders of the design.
The design was then passed to our CAD designer, Richelle, who transformed Abi’s sketches into a detailed 3D render.
Once Lauren saw the design come to life, she knew it was exactly what she wanted. So Abi requested a 3D print of the design so she could try it on to make sure it felt comfortable on.
Lauren loved the fit so Abi sent the stone away for casting, and eight weeks later, the finished piece arrived back in the workshop.
The result was a stunning modern Art Deco-inspired dress ring that perfectly balanced sentiment, elegance, and contemporary style.
Lauren absolutely adored the finished ring, and we have to say, we can see why.
